On April 11th 2004, the doors of our church opened in a hired community hall with a small but willing core of people. Our church dared to dream that one day we would be more than just a ‘set up, pack down’, transient and temporary gathering but we would be able to establish ourselves in the community with a permanent location and to be able to say with conviction that ‘we are here to stay’. Over the last 17 years, that conviction has not wavered. That unwavering conviction was what led us to take up our first ‘Building Our Future’ offering.
It is our core conviction that our finances are for so much more than momentary gain, but for generational impact. Before our first church service was even held, a small group of people gave sacrificially to an offering. The original givers and those who have given every year since, could never have imagined that their sowing would become the Nations Church we see today! To date, we own three buildings in Perth and one in Phnom Penh. These buildings are where we gather as the church and are spiritual homes for so many. They are where the lost are found, disciples are made, and they are the foundation from which more nations will be reached. With our new Myaree home on Playle Street in progress, we continue to expand and take ground so that many more people can encounter Christ and it must not end with our generation! We must continue in our conviction to build the future and we can be confident that as we sow, our best days are yet to come. We desire to one day see buildings in Cork, Scarborough, Bunbury and places that are not yet known, for people we have not yet met.
If you have recently joined our Nations Church family, we invite you to be counted amongst the legacy-leaving givers of our church. For those who have given throughout the years to Building Our Future, we thank you for your faithfulness and once again we ask you to sow! Sow into the buildings where our children will lead and our grandchildren will grow, established in God’s house and in His purposes!
We know that God’s work through Nations Church is far from complete.
In fact, there’s a sense that it has only just begun! We ask for you to prayerfully consider what your contribution will be for this year’s Building Our Future offering.
Intentional sowing is the difference between a momentary glorification of God and a generational glorification of God.
For a seed to achieve its greatest potential it must first be buried in the unseen. Through Building Our Future and the many years of intentional sowing into the unseen, we have been incredibly blessed as a church to have been able to buy and renovate buildings for our campuses. Here are some of the ongoing works taking place.
The auditorium, foyer, toilets and office renovations have been completed.
In 2021 we will commence renovations to create three age specific kids rooms, giving us more space and facilities to run incredible Sunday and mid-week programs.
It has been great to see the Kids Renovations taking shape. We also hope to create a second level of offices above the Nations Kids rooms for our team to work out of.
One day we hope to purchase and establish a permanent church building in Bunbury.
Our brand new building has already commenced at 8 Playle Street, Myaree with the intention to move in at the end of 2021. This will allow us the capacity to grow for many years to come, facilitate more community initiatives and be a hub from which our global expansions and operations can take place.
Since purchasing our church building in 2016, we have been able to add an extra Nations Kids room, upgrade our car park and continue with renovations around the building.
Our prayer is to have a permanent place of worship in Scarborough. With an already growing and vibrant congregation, having the ability to facilitate many more mid-week activities would allow us to better serve and influence the local community and the wider Northern suburbs.
As our ability to reach and disciple people across the globe in cities and remote communities continues to expand through our online presence, and as people connect with our heart and mandate, it is our expectation that many more physical Nations Church campuses will evolve in the future.
