The Christmas season calls to mind so many things… gifts, family gatherings, holidays and food. It is easy to forget during such a full season that 2,000 years ago, God Himself entered into our world. At a time in human history where there was great turmoil and darkness, divinity came as humanity…
Jesus Christ. He, who at the genesis of creation spoke light into the void, had once again interrupted the darkness and chaos. The star that stood still in the sky above him was a beacon of a promise fulfilled… the light of the world was here. He came as a gift, freely given so that all may freely receive. The answer to all of human emptiness was wrapped up in Jesus Christ… hope, joy, peace and new life.
We live now at a time in history where darkness and chaos seems so prevalent… and the world is searching for hope and a way forward. Not only is the Christmas narrative a celebration that the light of the world, Jesus, came to us… but a charge to those of us who have received His life to be bringers of His light to a world shrouded in darkness.
At Nations Church, it’s time to not merely behold the Christmas message… it’s time to become it! Join us this year as we both remember and reflect the true meaning of the season. See it once again as God intended for us to see it that first Christmas. Jesus… the light of the world is here!
